PBOT NE 131 Place Street Painting

  • Argay Terrace Neighborhood NE 131st Place between NE Prescott Dr. & NE Shaver St. Portland, OR, 97220 United States (map)

Join us to help paint one of Portland’s largest street paintings! This project was developed in partnership with Parkrose youth who participated in classes focused on Street Paintings as a form of community building and how to express community themes through art and design. The design of the painting was created by students in the community. This project was originally scheduled to be executed during the annual Village Building Convergence in June 2024, but was postponed due to weather.

We welcome any able bodies, of all ages, to show up and join us on this historic day! We’d love to find out in advance how much food to have, so please give us a shout in advance by dropping us a line at info@cityrepair.org, or filling out one of our handy-dandy volunteer questionnaires.

Sign up for shifts HERE. To officially volunteer with City Repair (possibly even more than just this street painting event, no commitment required), please visit this page and send us your details: https://cityrepair.org/volunteer or a Google form here. We appreciate you!

PBOT Traffic Calming and Placemaking

The Portland Bureau of Transportation (PBOT) will oversee construction of traffic calming speed bumps on NE 131st Place between NE Shaver and Prescott Drive and a traffic circle at the intersection of Prescott Drive. Community-inspired street paintings will be installed along the project area.

We need your help!

This is a HUGE project, approximately a quarter mile of painting to be completed. We need volunteers, and this will be so exciting to see a street painting design, created by Parkrose youth and inspired by themes from the community. There will be food, drinks and relaxing by the T-Horse!

See more information and information about volunteering on the PBOT website here.
